In a world brimming with technology, cameras remain complex and overwhelming for young minds. The weight, size, bulk and the many dials and buttons on the cameras available in the marketplace today make it a tad inaccessbile for kids to handle a camera deftly when the moment presents itself. Therefore, the vision with this project was to strip away the bulk and complexity, creating a physical experience that captures memories and speaks the language of kids.
How might we design an experience that empowers kids to explore photography in a fun and accessible way?

Mode Switch
To enhance the physical interaction aspect of the product, the primary control element is the Mode-switch ring at the top of the device. To turn the camera on, one simply grabs the ring and turns it to “flip” the device on. Pulling the ring and releasing it switches capture modes between Camera, Video and AI Overlay..
Grabbing the ring and flipping the front of the camera turns the device on while tugging and releasing the ring switches modes between Camera, Video and AI Overlay mode.
